What do you think of when you hear the word “creative?”
You may think of your elementary school art teacher, the macaroni art you used to make that your family was so proud of or a well-known artist you learned about in school.
I recently had the opportunity to talk to other young creatives, who you’ll meet over the next few weeks, in different avenues to discuss their journeys and how they got started. Although they’re in different arenas, one thing was the same.
It all started with a dream that followed with just going for it.
I once heard someone say that there’s no perfect time to start “xyz,” you just have to start even if all the details aren’t squared away. That’s exactly how I feel about this blog, which was launched almost two years after coming up with the idea.
Something that many creatives can relate to is the nervousness of putting yourself and your work out there. It’s just down right scary because you’re so passionate about what you do, and you don’t want someone to not like it or criticize it.
The truth is that not everyone is going to like what creatives curate, and that’s fine. People have different tastes and, as I’ve heard numerous times, there are different strokes for different folks.
I’ve enjoyed this journey of telling my story along with others. The decision to just do it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. This creative outlet has stretched me, challenged me and inspired me to try new things so stay tuned.
