Think It. Say It. Do It.

Have you ever met someone who’s full of wisdom? It’s like they’re always dropping gems that make you want to sit at their feet all day.

I know someone who exemplifies this, and I’ll call her Ms. Frances.

I met Ms. Frances last year, and I see her every other week or so. She’s a faith-filled woman who has an upbeat and easy-going personality.

Every time I see her, I can’t help but to take in some wisdom for a few moments.

One of the many things she has shared with me is speaking the day I want and not paying attention to the negative things. I know this to be true in her life because she always demonstrates it.

I ask, “How was your day?” She always responds with “Of course, it was great. I came in declaring it.”

That response gives me the biggest smile because she says it with such confidence almost like saying, “You should already know.”

This boils down to intention; deciding how you want your day to be and making sure it happens. I believe it also involves constantly reminding yourself of that intention.

I recently listened to a podcast about affirmations and the importance of incorporating them into your daily routine. Huffington Post contributor Dr. Carmen Harra said that it’s not enough to depend on thoughts. We have to turn our thoughts into words that’ll lead to actions to manifest our intentions.

Dr. Harra also said, “When we verbally affirm our dreams and ambitions, we are instantly empowered with a deep sense of reassurance that our wishful words will become reality.”

This is why Ms. Frances always has a great day. She speaks it and makes sure her words manifest into the outcome she wants.

Ms. Frances has taught me to be more careful with my words because they’re powerful.

Do you use affirmations? If so, feel free to share in the comments.
