We’ve all been affected by it.
Either you’ve walked through it or you know someone who has.
Breast cancer.
The words no one wants to hear.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. reported that one in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. That’s an estimate of over 252,710 women who’ll receive the diagnosis each year.
It’s the most common cancer among women worldwide according to The World Health Organization and is the second leading cause of cancer death among women.
Through advanced treatments, perseverance and support, over 3.3 million women have become breast cancer survivors.
Kathryn Rucker is a part of that list. She’s a mother, wife, daughter, sister, hard worker, leader and so much more. Additionally, she’s a survivor.

Next month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and I’m excited to celebrate October by sharing her story. Her journey of overcoming this diagnosis has shaped her into the phenomenal woman she is today.
