Thankful

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines thankful as “well pleased.”

Let’s be honest… It’s hard to be “well pleased” when your car starts cutting up, when relationships fail, when your life plans fail you, when sickness arises…

Should I continue?

No one wants to experience trouble, pain or heartbreak. On the other hand, how does dwelling on these things serve us?

In the midst of all the unexpected things, I’m determined to make it a daily practice to shift my focus to the things, big or small, that I’m thankful for.

I’m thankful for growth, lessons learned, relationships that have stood the test(s), opportunities that are on the way and faith that shows me I’m not alone and better is around the corner.

Whatever you find yourself in, I hope you take some time to express what you’re “well pleased” about.

I can’t end without saying that I’m thankful for you and your support.
