New Year, New Mindset

The new year means something different for everyone.

Some are excited about a fresh start, some don’t get into the hype because it’s just another year and others may not be able to shake certain experiences from the previous year.

Where do you stand?

Honestly, I’m excited for the possibilities 2020 brings. I’m not a “new year, new me” kind of person but a “new year, new mindset” kind of person.

I’ve learned that no experience goes wasted. There’s something to learn in everything; good or bad. Some lessons are learned immediately while others take time to process.

One thing 2019 taught me is the importance of being my own cheerleader.

I owe it to myself to show up for myself in everything. I owe it to myself to not put myself in situations and relationships that don’t serve me. I owe it to myself to stay in the fight and believe better is around the corner.

I recently heard a podcast host say, “This year is going to be great because I said so.”

Let’s take on this mindset. This year will be whatever we want it to be and whatever we say it will be.

In the words of Michelle Obama, “Be focused. Be determined. Be hopeful. Be empowered.”

Happy New Year!
