Legacy Lessons

Whew…

This week has been heavy. Many are processing and mourning the loss of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna Bryant, John Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, Alyssa Altobelli, Sarah Chester, Payton Chester, Ara Zobayan and Christina Mauser.

When the notification came across my phone screen Sunday, I could do nothing but stare in disbelief.

I’ve watched and read a lot about Kobe over the past few days, and I’m inspired by the legacy he built as a father and husband, athlete, philanthropist, creative and more.

There are no words to describe this tragic loss, but Kobe said many words throughout his life that have inspired me. Here are a few.

“Everything negative – pressure, challenges – is all an opportunity for me to rise.”

“The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do.”

“I’m reflective only in the sense that I learn to move forward. I reflect with a purpose.”

“Use your success, wealth and influence to put them in the best position to realize their own dreams and find their true purpose.”

“Dedication sees dreams come true.”
