Wow…
It’s crazy to believe we’re nearing the end of the first month of 2021.
Not sure if you’ll agree but 2020 felt like the longest and fastest year of my life.
Last year was full of highs, lows, joy, sadness, tears and laughter. All of which were experienced before Miss Rona popped in the picture.
The way 2020 started and ended was completely unexpected for me (well… probably for a lot of us).
I went into 2020 on a high horse but was humbled very quickly by life circumstances and the pandemic, which forced me to ask myself some tough questions.
What do you want?
How long will you talk about it but not act on it?
How long will you entertain relationships that do nothing for you?
When will you fight through imposter syndrome?
This pushed me to re-evaluate how I wanted my life to be. It was either be complacent or have faith to take a chance on myself and start to create the life I want.
I chose to take a chance!
One of my biggest goals was to get into grad school. It had been a goal of mine for a while and 2020 seemed like the perfect year to make it happen.
Long story short, it happened!

I had talked about going to Syracuse University since 2017, and it was surreal to see that dream come true almost three years later.
Grad school hasn’t been the easiest journey, but it’s an experience that I wouldn’t trade for anything and wouldn’t have any other way.
One of the biggest lessons I learned in 2020 is that some things will require me to do “it” afraid. All it takes is putting one foot in front of the other.
The fact is that this mentality will be required for many situations in my life. I can’t automatically count myself out because I don’t feel good enough or prepared enough.

My goal this year is to simply be better- mentally, spiritually and physically. I also want to be better at choosing where I place my attention.
I want to focus on the things and people that matter most and not sweat the small stuff. There’s no use in obsessing over things I can’t change or should move on from.
I hope whatever goals you’ve set for yourself turn out better than you expect.
The new year has given us a fresh start, so let’s take full advantage of it!
